Staff Profiles

Jim is the president and co-owner of ePly Services. While studying business, event registration was still largely a burdensome manual process and being one to always look for the most efficient way to do things, Jim envisioned an online process. What began as a business plan that he submitted for a course on entrepreneurship has gradually evolved into today's system that simplifies the work of event planners throughout North America.

When Jim isn't thinking about ePly, he takes on the challenge of renovating his house inside and out, learning things from his baby daughter and running up the occasional mountain.

Katie joined ePly in 2008 as an Event Registration Software Specialist after having worked for many years as a meetings and conference planner. While traveling the globe as an event planner, she discovered her passion for registration and set out to join a company who offered an efficient and reliable registration system.

In addition to helping customers put on successful events, Katie spends her time tuned into the Food Network, learning to salsa dance, scouring Vancouver’s amazing farmer’s markets, and reading (often two or three books at once). Katie is also a member of the Vancouver chapter for Room to Read, an innovative international education NGO that is impacting the lives of millions of children in the developing world by providing quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, and providing education to girls.

Rob is our newest member at ePly and brings experience in sales, marketing and business development. Rob has spent the majority of his career contributing to the growth and success of small businesses.  Most recently, being part of the online registration and search marketing industry, Rob brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our marketing department.

While Rob has always been interested in anything ‘online’, he spends his spare time enjoying the outdoors and getting on a bike as much as possible. Rob is also an active supporter and fundraiser for cancer research, using his bike as his tool for promotion in such events as the Ride to Conquer Cancer, and his cycling club Glotman Simpson Cycling. Other interests include hiking with his dog Hunter, an Alaskan Malamute/Shepard X, and like any good Vancouverite - enjoying a coffee and/or great food and drink with family and friends.
