Goal:

The goal of this conference is to produce a consensus opinion produced by oncologists and allied health professionals from across Eastern Canada for the purpose of recommending management strategies for patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) and selected gastrointestinal cancers. The final report will be submitted for publication to “Current Oncology”; a peer reviewed, Canadian based and internationally distributed journal, representing a multi-disciplinary medium, encompassing health care workers in the field of cancer therapy to report upon and to review progress in the management of this disease.

Overall Learning Objectives of this Program

At the end of this program learner will be able to:

  • Describe the optimal treatment of medical, radiation and surgical treatment of Gastrointestinal Cancers
  • Summarize the 2016 GI Consensus and WC5
  • Describe the genetic story of gastric cancer and when to screen

Outcome:

  • Obtain consensus on new or emerging therapies.
  • Publication in “Current Oncology”.
  • Discuss standards of care in Gastrointestinal cancer.
