in Action: Ticket Sales for a Show or Gala Event.
Many companies and organizations now hold events that
require people to purchase tickets, for example, to a show
or gala event. Traditionally, people would phone in and
purchase tickets with their credit card or mail a cheque
with their registration form.
However, some online registration vendors now offer online
ticket sales in combination with their registration
services. The online registration vendor sets up the
registration site for the event and people can select how
many tickets they want to buy and how they want to purchase
them (cash, credit card, invoice, etc.).
The online form automatically computes the totals and sends
them a confirmation email. From this point, the event
planner can mail the tickets to the participants or have
them ready at the door when they arrive.
